Nahima Ahmed

Nahima Ahmed graduated Hunter College and is currently a Masters in Public Health candidate at the CUNY School of Public Health. With a background in psychology and epidemiology, she has extensive experience with epidemiological methodology, statistics, and survey design. Previous research topics include teen peer education programs and HIV, STI, substance & alcohol abuse prevention, relationship between parental health and children’s cognitive development among new immigrants, gender role perception among children in relation to exposure to major themes in fairy tales, professional medical education on physicians’ practice and knowledge, and web-based education on patients’ medical self efficacy. Nahima’s previous health non-profit positions at organizations like the Red Hook Community Justice Center and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America have also given her experience in non-profit program administration, program creation/planning, program evaluation, and conducting needs assessments.
